Ten days ago our belaying and crevasse training was complete. Another few delays & weather days later we felt the field season slipping into a Crevasse of its own, however this morning provided hope and the Basler Boys (Chris & Danny) flew out. Even better progress came at 4:30PM when we learned that the Basler Boys have been safely left in the Fosdicks and ground conditions seem favorable for an open field Hercules landing. On-ground weather obs will now be provided by Chris (our trained 'camp' weather observer), and weather permitting, the remaining three of us could be flying as early as Monday morning. Our optimism has increased significantly!
Not sure who Faunda is, but Fawna will certainly be there! |
