Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Sometimes it is good to broaden your scientific horizons... on Wednesday we did just that! We dropped our rock hammers, picked up our cameras, and assisted the B470 team search the sea ice for the majestic Weddell seal (Leptonychotes weddellii). Instead of mapping geological formations we mapped the heat signature of seals emerging from the frigid sea using the latest thermal imaging camera available. We laughed, we cried, and we conduced seal stakeouts with the inspiration of le chocolat chaud and biscuits. THANK YOU B470 FOR A MAGNIFICENT DAY OUT!!!
